On which platform will the symposium take place?

The conference will take place on multiple platforms, all accessible via b2match.

Registration: Each participant is required to register to the symposium on b2match, and to select which sessions he/she wants to attend.

Talks: The talks will be accessible through Zoom. The link to the Zoom meeting for each session will be available on b2match.

Posters
: The posters will be visible on virtualpostersession.org. You will be given a password to access virtualpostersession.org once you will register to b2match.

1:1 meetings: During the PSC Symposium, you will have the chance to have 1:1, in-person meetings with any other participant. The 1:1 meetings will be held through b2match, using its integrated video conference app (Eyeson).

Do I need Zoom to participate in the virtual symposium?

We recommend that you download the Zoom Client for Meetings ahead of time.

Although you do not need to download the Zoom application to participate - you can run the meeting in your browser by clicking “join from your browser” at the bottom of the page - the viewing experience is better through the app. The free version of the app will be sufficient to attend all events of the symposium.

In what format are the sessions?

All speaker sessions will be held as Zoom meetings. The links to the Zoom meetings for each talk will be available on b2match

How can I ask questions to the speakers?

After each speaker's talk there will be a 10-minutes slot for Q&A. To ask questions to the speaker, you can write your name in the Zoom chat box. Your microphone will be then unmuted by the panel moderator and you will be able to ask your question.

How will the poster session be organized?

The poster session will be held on virtualpostersession.org. On this website you will be able to see all the posters. Next to each poster there will be the poster abstract, as well as a "Chat with the presenter" button: clicking on the latter will open a Zoom meeting that will allow you to have a 1:1 meeting with the poster author.

When entering a meeting to see a poster, you will be directed to a waiting room, from where the poster presenter will have the power to grant you entry. This prevents the poster “room” from getting too busy. If a poster happens to be very busy, do not be discouraged by waiting, we recommend going to see another poster, and coming back a little later. If a particular poster presenter is busy throughout the entire poster session, we highly encourage contacting the presenter and scheduling a 1:1 meeting on b2match.

Will I have the chance to have 1:1 meetings with the speakers, or with other participants?

During the PSC Symposium you will be able to easily organize 1:1 meetings with any speaker or any participant. In order to do so, you will have to:

  1. Register for a "networking session". During the conference day (December 2nd) there are three networking sessions: coffee break (h: 11:15 - 11:45), lunch break (h: 13:30 - 15:00), online apéro (h: 17:00 - 18:00). In addition, there are two all-day networking sessions on December 3rd and 4th.
  2. From your b2match page, you can invite a participant by going to the Participants page, filter for Matchmaking (from the menu on the left), click on the participant you wnat to talk to and then click on Request meeting.
  3. Whenever you invite a participant for a 1:1 meeting, this person will receive an invitation and will be able to accept/reject your invitation, or to reschedule the meeting to another time slot.
  4. You can also invite other people to the 1:1 meeting by sharing the link to the meeting or, if the meeting has already started, you can click on the Add participant button on the bottom of the window.

What is the structure of the lunches, coffee break and virtual apero?

During the coffee break (h: 11:15 - 11:45), the lunch break (h: 13:30 - 15:00) and the online apéro (h: 17:00 - 18:00) we encourage all the participants to organize 1:1 meetings with the speakers or with other participants.

Will the talks be recorded?

We will not be recording any talks or other sessions of the symposium. Only registered symposium attendees will be able to attend the meeting.

What if I encounter a bad link or technical problem?

If you encounter any problem during the registration process or during the day of the symposium, you can always contact any of the organizers via email. You can find the email addresses in the of the Contact page of our website.
